👋 About Us

We’re Steven and Kelli Shaddox, and we’ve been living and serving in Prague, Czech Republic since 2021 with our daughters, Kaci and Selah. After 13 years of local church ministry in Missouri and Oklahoma, we followed God’s leading into long-term cross-cultural ministry with TEAM – The Evangelical Alliance Mission.

What started as a step of faith and obedience has led to deeper dependence on God, a growing love for the Czech people, and a life we never would have written for ourselves—but wouldn’t trade for anything.

📍 Why Prague?

The Czech Republic has one of the highest percentages of people who don’t identify with any faith, and less than 1% identify as evangelical Christians.

While Prague is known for its beauty, history, and charm, the spiritual landscape tells a different story—one shaped by long-standing skepticism, secularism, and deep spiritual need. Generations have grown up with little to no exposure to Scripture, Christian community, or the life-changing message of the Gospel.

We serve primarily in a part of Prague called Řepy, a neighborhood of more than 26,000 people, where we partner with a Czech church plant called Pochodeň Praha, currently the only evangelical church reaching that community.

Together with our Czech pastor/ministry partner, we’re investing in the life of the church, discipling others, and helping establish a long-term Gospel presence in a place where Jesus is not yet known by many.

🛠️ What We Do

Our ministry centers on local church partnership, long-term relationships, and intentional presence.

We’re involved in the daily rhythms of church life—helping lead, discipling others, serving through music ministry, offering hospitality, and facilitating outreach efforts that build bridges through creativity, conversation, and shared experiences. In all of it, our desire is to strengthen the church, encourage believers, and live out the Gospel in ways that are practical, faithful, and deeply relational.

We serve with TEAM, whose mission is to partner with the global Church in sending disciples who make disciples and establish missional churches for the glory of God. That’s the heartbeat of what we’re doing here in Prague as we walk with people, invest in the local church, and help others grow in faith and leadership.

We’ve found that meaningful ministry here takes time, trust, and a steady presence. It often looks like opening our home, listening well, praying with friends, and simply showing up when it matters. Learning the language and culture has been essential—not just for communication, but for demonstrating love, respect, and a desire to truly belong.

We also serve other missionaries and ministries here through things like spiritual care, worship development, and leadership support. In all of it, our hope is to help them thrive in their own disciple-making, church-centered ministries.

✝️ Our Hope

Our hope is rooted in the Gospel.

We believe God created people for relationship with Him, and that through Jesus, He offers forgiveness, new life, and lasting hope. We also believe that the local church is God’s chosen way to make this message known. That’s why we’ve committed ourselves to long-term, church-centered ministry here in Prague.

In a city where many have never met a Christian or attended a church, we long to be part of something lasting. That means walking with people, not just toward faith in Christ, but through everyday life with patience, integrity, and love.

We’re not driven by results. We believe our role is to be faithful to plant seeds of the Gospel and to reflect Christ through how we live and love. We’re committed to a ministry of presence, investing our lives in people and serving the church in ways that reflect who Jesus is. Whether it’s through a worship gathering, a conversation over coffee, or simply showing up when it matters, our prayer is that people would come to know the love of God and the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.
